We promise there is something for everyone, whether you are Single, Couple or new to town. The night consists of Food, a Show, open Dancing and fun, fun fun with your host Christy Lane and great music with Innovative DJ. Dancing the Decades is an interactive and entertaining show where we will celebrate the #1 songs to the #1 dances from each decade. You can learn a beginning dance, strut your stuff, or just watch as we stroll through time experiencing each era. ( All cameras will be turned off during the show so all participants will feel comfortable). And the best part? The price! Where else can you get all this for only $30 per Single and $50 per Couple! Why? Because it is our first annual, and we want you to come! UPDATE NOTE: Due to food count, we advise you to buy tickets online. This event may sell out.
Our motto is Fun, not Formal, so there is no set dress code. You can dress to impress or come as you please, but do consider danceable attire (and don't forget about the shoes!). The event is being held inside the San Gabriel Park Center at 445 E. Morrow Street (click map tab above). When you enter the park, look for the signs and balloons directing you to the Center. The floor is great for dancing! It all begins at 6:00 pm with a nice casual Italian dinner and music, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverages (please arrive early as the food will stop at 6:55 pm). The show starts at 7:00 pm, followed by open dancing from 8 - 10:00 pm. There is free parking, limited beer and wine, and a photo station where everyone can make a happy memory. Oh yeah, it's for 18 yrs and over. And Georgetown's finest PD will be securing the event. UPDATE NOTE: Cash only will be accepted on-site.
It's all about experiencing joy moving to music. Sometimes we just don't spend enough time nurturing our emotional self. Social dancing benefits you physically, mentally, socially and most importantly, emotionally. This event is unique in that it will "feed" your body and spirit as you join with others to take a break from the stress of life and just LIVE and feel good.
Proceeds go to the Dare to Dance Educational Program promoting wellness through movement to music. Christy Lane founded the national Dare to Dance Program 18 years ago and her deep passion has launched over a hundred school programs in the United States and engaged over 2 million students. Dare to Dance offers services and products to anyone of all ages who want to move to music!
